PwC’s new talent marketplace powers internal mobility through transparency and technology

In an ever-changing job market, employers should be creative about how they leverage the skills in their talent pool. That’s why we created My Marketplace – a talent marketplace informed by an artificial intelligence (AI) engine to power internal mobility across our firm. By transforming how talent is connected to skills and opportunities, My Marketplace is one of our most pivotal internal platforms to date, and a key step forward in how our My+ people experienceuses technology to personalize careers at the firm.

Through this interactive platform, all US employees can:

  • View a personalized dashboard with opportunities tailored to their skills, experience and interests
  • Gain greater transparency into available opportunities
  • Learn more about the different work we do to serve clients
  • Identify the skills required to pursue different opportunities
  • Make connections to help expand their professional network

Streamlining the identification of the right internal talent

“My Marketplace will be a game-changer for how our people navigate the firm and identify new skills to better support their careers” Yolanda Seals-Coffield, Chief People Officer at PwC US. “We’ve already seen our people get exposure to new areas they may not have previously had access to, and our leaders have gotten exposure to staff projects outside of their immediate teams, as My Marketplace is broadening the way we view the firm for everybody.”

According to the latest findings from PwC’s Pulse Survey, 84% of  CHROs are increasing investments in skills-based talent architecture. This is encouraging as talent marketplaces can lead to a more engaged workforce, provide opportunities for existing employees and – in our experience – can also help leaders better allocate resources.

My Marketplace helps to streamline the experience of finding talent for our leaders by providing:

  • Increased visibility to a variety of talent for improved workload balance, networking, and team composition
  • Access to available talent for short-term project needs
  • Internal search capability to fill specialized skills needs
  • Opportunities to develop talent and help them progress in their career

With the ability to source a broader talent pool, leaders can more effectively connect to employees with the right skills and experience to help deliver better client outcomes.
