lululemon Announces the Formation of Mental Wellbeing Global Advisory Board

lululemon is proud to announce the formation of a Mental Wellbeing Global Advisory Board to further support its purpose of elevating human potential by helping people feel their best.

lululemon’s 2022 Global Wellbeing Report revealed that only 29% of respondents across the 10-market study indicated they have strong wellbeing across all three dimensions of physical, mental, and social wellbeing. Through lululemon’s Centre for Social Impact, the Advisory Board will support the company’s Impact Agenda goals to invest in and advocate for the wellbeing of those most impacted by systemic inequity around the world.

The 11 members of the inaugural Advisory Board span the globe and include physicians, social service providers, academics, advocates, and social innovators, and will provide their diverse expertise to support lululemon in creating and deepening access to wellbeing tools, support, and resources for its people and communities.

Board members include Dr. Alfiee M Breland-NobleStephanie BrillP. Murali DoraiswamyDaniel H. Gillison, Jr.Sarah KlineYvette KongSteph LabbéZhen LiElena V. RiosShayla Stonechild, and Paul Villanti, and will be chaired by two members of lululemon’s global senior leadership team, Nikki Neuburger, Chief Brand Officer, and Susan Gelinas, Chief People & Culture Officer.

“At lululemon, we believe everyone has the right to be well and the path to wellbeing is only possible when the tools, support, and resources are accessible to all,” said Nikki Neuburger. “We are thrilled to continue to expand our investment and work toward improving mental wellbeing outcomes and to collaborate with such a talented group of experts to elevate and support individual and community wellbeing globally.”

The key areas the Advisory Board will initially focus on include supporting the development of lululemon’s Annual Global Wellbeing Report, providing guidance on mental wellbeing offerings for lululemon employees, offering counsel on lululemon’s Centre for Social Impact practices and initiatives, and advising on guest, community, and industry programming and convenings that promote mental wellbeing.

“As a global company rooted in movement, mindfulness, and personal development as a whole, we are deeply committed to increasing awareness, access, and tools for improved mental wellbeing – within our own lululemon team as well as our extended community,” said Susan Gelinas. “With the guidance of our expert advisors, we are excited to take our work to the next level and advance mental wellbeing outcomes throughout our global collective and beyond.”

The Advisory Board reflects lululemon’s longstanding practice of partnering and collaborating with leaders and organizations that share the company’s values and commitment to supporting people and communities in their wellbeing journey, such as the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).

“Together with lululemon, we have done incredible work to help create access to wellbeing resources and tools, including reimagining crisis response in the United States through the establishment of 9-8-8 mental health crisis and suicide prevention number,” said Daniel H. Gillison, Jr. Chief Executive Officer, NAMI. “I look forward to further evolving our long-standing partnership by serving on the Advisory Board and improving mental wellbeing outcomes for our communities.”

As part of the Advisory Board’s formation, lululemon has made an investment on behalf of each external Advisory Board member to a wellbeing organization of their choice, supporting lululemon’s goal of positively impacting more than 10 million people globally by 2025 through an initial investment of USD $75 million.
