American Express’ success is powered by the great work our colleagues do every day. We are who we are today because of the talent and commitment our colleagues have brought to the company since our earliest days, and our legacy of proudly thanking those who go above and beyond is an important part of our culture. To recognize our top-performing colleagues who achieve exceptional results through exemplary leadership and dedication to our company values, we recently introduced the first-ever winners of two new annual award programs: The American Express Centurion Award and The 1850 Club Award.
The Centurion Award celebrates colleagues for outstanding achievements and leadership over the past year, while The 1850 Club Award recognizes colleagues who have made a significant impact towards the company’s success over 15 years or more.
“As I’ve said many times before, our colleagues’ talent, hard work, creativity, and service ethos are unmatched. I want to thank every colleague for your important contributions, with a very special congratulations to our inaugural Centurion Award and 1850 Club Award winners,” said Chairman and CEO Stephen J. Squeri.
The more than 1,200 winners were chosen from thousands of nominations submitted by their peers and leaders who witness their exceptional work firsthand every day. They come from 27 countries, spanning all eligible levels and types of roles.
In addition to these new award programs, American Express continues to celebrate colleagues around the world through other long-established annual awards – the Customer Service Award and the Edward P. Gilligan Award for Innovation.
American Express has consistently been recognized as a great place to work both by colleagues and third parties like the Great Place to Work’s® prestigious annual list of 100 Best Companies to Work For® in the US. In fact, we ranked #4 on that annual list in 2024.
